848 Fairfax Ave. is a 126-unit apartment community located in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco. This property is accepting applications for the waitlist from July 2, 2026 to July 16, 2026 for affordable one- and three-bedroom units. Income and other restrictions apply. Section 8 vouchers are welcome. Reasonable accommodations will be made available for persons who make a request. This property has some units built out with special modifications for mobility and sensory impairments.

Applications for the Waitlist are due Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 5PM.

Lottery Preferences

Preferences will be given in the following order (Households with US Military Veterans will get priority within the below preference categories within COP, DTHP, and Live/Work preference.):

  1. Households in which at least one person is a former or current resident of Hunters View public housing (previously known as West Point) will be given highest preference in the lottery ranking process.
  2. For households in which one member holds a Certificate of Preference (COP) from the former San Francisco Redevelopment Agency will be given second highest preference in the lottery ranking process or are descendants of someone who was displaced.
  3. For households who are currently paying more than 50% of income for housing costs or are living in public housing or project based Section 8 housing within San Francisco will be given the third highest preference.
  4. Households in which one member holds a Displaced Tenant Housing Preference (DTHP) Certificate will be given the fourth highest preference in the lottery ranking process.
  5. Households that submit acceptable documentation that at least one member lives or works in San Francisco will be given the fifth highest preference in the lottery ranking process.
